Living Single

Untitled (Poem)

"Good just doesn't cut it when I know BEST is searching for me.

Good sound efficient enough--it passes the time until BEST shows up.

Good can hinder the BEST from coming into the picture...when Good has made a permanent resident instead of just visiting.

Good may satisfy the current need however, BEST is the fulfillment and swallows up all deprivity.

Good---its comfortable and maybe even nice---BEST is the adventure, the action, where you truly come alive.

Good just isn't good enough for me anymore. I don't want mediocre, business as usual or this will due for the time being...I want BEST, God's Best for me---He is the King, and in His eyes---I am a Queen."

I wrote this poem because when one have been single for quite sometime---waiting for God's best.  'Good' start looking like the BEST, when actually it is an illusion. It is funny.  Some days this dreams seem so close and on other days it seems in the distance. Regardless, how I feel---God is true to who He and what He says.  He knows my desires and they are pure.  I choose to believe that God's timing isn't off in the galaxy of one glad morning---I choose to believe that God's timing is now, in the present, in the moment.  I choose to believe that my dreams are already answered and the moment I hear the word of God---it is fulfilled.  I believe that He is coming around the corner. In the mean time....I rest in the arms of my Beloved knowing that He will send him to me or me to him.  Either way, we will be together.  I will continue to write letters, and poems declaring my love and my heart for a man I have yet met but isn't that far apart---from me.

Lonely Heart on Saturday Night

I've been reading this book called "Non-Religious Guide to Dating and Being Single".  It has rocked my world in a very good way.  Anyway, I am learning how God is truly my fulfillment.  However, my battle with loneliness is still very much real.  A single woman on a Saturday Night, at home painting on canvas.  Usually  I am relaxed and enjoy painting but tonight---not so much!  I would rather be hanging out with people or even out on a date would be fun.  Haven't had one of those in years.  Yes!  I said, "Years!!!"  Anyway, this to will have to pass!

Sighs of Love (poem)

I wait for you
Tapping my foot and looking at this thing called the "Biological Clock" going tick, tock, tick, tock

I wait for you
As I feel the warmth of the sun on my face as I admire all of God's creation; I can't help but long to share these moments with you.

I wait for you
Oh, the nights are cruel and lonesome.  I stare at the bed, it is bare and alone with stains of tears on my pillow --wishing you were there.

I wait for you
I look into the crowds wondering if I will see you, meet you, hoping one of them would be you. But its not--maybe  tomorrow.

 I wait for you
Battlefield to to the bed.  Man, what a fight.  Every song I hear is of love--where are you.  Every movie I watch---wow!  This is really bad, Hollywood-- you just lie and really do not help.

I wait for you
While I am waiting for you, my beloved, know that you have my heart.  I am counting down the days, the minutes and the seconds of every hour until we will be.....together.

I wait for You---You Better Come Soon!!!

This poem I have personally written as a cry and prayer of my heart---waiting for my husband to come.  Choosing to live this life by faith and celibacy---isn't always easy.  I hear it's worth the wait.  My dear husband, my heart calls for you to come, so I  can find out what I've been waiting for!
